4 Loads of Laundry, A Bruise, and a Frappucino

So, today wasn’t very eventful. I did take it upon myself to take my laundry to the laundrymat. I had to first stop of at Kroger, where I intended on getting some healthy food in my system and *ding* a bell went off as I passed the salad bar. I really enjoyed my $3.26 salad from the drivers seat of my ’99 Ford Contour…cucumbers, spring mix lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green bell pepper slices, and cheese…it was all yummy. Even more yummy was the fruit salad (strawberries, oranges, cantaloupe, blackberries, and pineapple). That was truly to die for. The pineapple and oranges were the best I had in my life…I would dare compare it on the same scale as chocolate.

So, at the laundrymat, I did 4 loads (obviously, you knew this by my title, duh!). I figure that when you get down to your last pair of underwear, and it is the pair that is lacking the elastic, it is time to wash some. I feel very self-satisfied doing laundry at the laundrymat. So nice to accomplish all this pile up of a month’s worth of dirty clothes in under 2 hours. The only downside to the laundrymat is that, I’m sure most of you will agree, it is pretty filthy. I have never been in a truly clean laundrymat. That is why I wonder why laundry mats and tanning beds go hand in hand. Why would you want to be nude, or semi-nude, for more conservative folks, in a place as disgusting as a laundry mat. I mean, I understand how it is efficient to tan and wait on laundry at the same time, but you would never find me using one of those! On my way out, delivering the second to last load to my car, I slipped on some water, and now I have a bruise above my knee. A couple of people saw it, and one guy asked if I was ok, but that is embarassing, even if I did laugh it off. And now, I have to rewash a few towels, cause they fell on the floor. Oh, well.

I stopped off at the Starbucks and got a Double Chip Frappucino. Why is it that Starbucks tastes so darn good? I don’t really think any other coffee shop (sorry, Mom and Pops), can match the goodness of Starbucks. The only positive thing to note, is that when you pay $4 for a Frappucino, you enjoy evey penny of it. I am never disappointed there.

So, got all my clothes into my apt., except for one load (the downpour has kept me from getting that one out of the car). All in all, I think I accomplished two things, the satisfaction of getting my laundry done, and getting a little exercise in the process…3 flights of stairs times 4 = 12 times up and down the stairs to get the laundry. I call that a slight workout. Too bad the Frappucino cancels it out. What can I say, a girl’s gotta have her chocolate/caffeine buzz.
