On Saturday I went to the Farmer’s Market and picked up some dahlias for $5 bucks from one of the vendors. I took a photo for you to see above 🙂 It was the first time I’ve ever purchased dahlias. I don’t think this vendor has had them before. Anyway, I really love them and it’s partially because I’ve seen the dahlia motif used a lot in design as of late. They really are beautiful…they remind me very much of the Zinnias my Grandma used to grow.
So I thought I’d pull together a few examples of some pretty dahlias used in design and craft that you might like too 🙂
These rugs from Norman Copenhagan are so gosh darn cool. What a neat statement piece!
Found this table setting on Country Living. What a pretty summer table setting or wedding table setting idea!
I’ve been seeing a lot of these resin dahlias online. I particularly like this ring by Etsy seller Tamar for the ornate ring setting. Very pretty.
This lamp is a fun and modern way to incorpate this flower into a retro classic design!
And this decopauged table is to D.I.Y. for (via Juicybits)!
Have you seen any cool dahlia inspirations out there on the net or in stores recently?
Until next time Swellions!

Reminds me of the Spirograph set I would play with when I was young. Pounds of paper , loads of designs and ink stains on my hands that would last for days. 😉
Of course, the writer is completely fair.
