How to do those crazy faces you see on Snapchat

how-to-do-face-lenses-in-snapchatHave you seen the crazy selfies everyone has been making lately on Snapchat?  They may just be the reason you need do join this popular app. This silly selfie function (also referred to as “lenses”) is a great way to let loose and be playful on social media!  In less than a minute on Snapchat, you’ll be making faces and having fun.  Let me show you how easy it is!

I created a little graphic below for you to follow, but I wanted to share some more insight too!

First, open up Snapchat and go to camera mode.  Turn the camera to front facing selfie mode. Note: You can only use face lenses in selfie mode.

Secondly, in selfie mode, press your finger against your screen to reveal the face grid. Sometimes you have to press your finger on your face several times for the grid to come up. The lighting you are working with does affect this, so make sure you are shooting your selfie in good lighting!

After the face grid comes up, you are good to go!  Explore all the fun faces and get into character!  There’s some faces that require you to open your mouth to perform an action.  There’s some pretty hilarious results you’ll have to experience for yourself.

Of course, you are going to want to share a lot of snaps to your story and snap silly pics to your friends, but you may want to share on your other social media sites as well! I’ve shared mine on my Facebook, Vine, Twitter, and Instagram.  They are a great way to infuse personality into your social media sites.  Who knows, you may even want to make one your profile pic on these sites!

Between you and me, this feature is great for entertaining bored kids and breaking the ice at awkward family and party situations.  Keep this in mind if you need an instant conversation starter.

I’d love to know what your favorite Snapchat lens is!  How do you see yourself using this cool feature?
