Shameless Self Promotion: Buy my new DIY kit I designed for Darby Smart

I have some exciting news! My friend Nicole of the cool DIY kit company Darby Smart, asked me to design an awesome Tulip 3D Paint a.k.a. Puffy Paint and Fabric Spray canvas set  using mini white canvases and cool stencils from the Crafter’s Workshop! This kit is officially called Color Wash Canvases and they are so fun to make!

Why do you need to buy this kit?  I’ve actually come up with TEN reasons…

The Top 10 Reasons why you’ll want to buy my Darby Smart DIY kit…
1.  It’s a fun, clever, and fast birthday gift idea for a friend or frenemy.
2.  If you’re on a diet, treat yourself!  At least, you’ll feed your creativity.
3.  It will make your teen or tween stop texting (for atleast an hour).
4. Your blank, boring walls will thank you. So will your fave relative who criticizes your decorating.
5. You can buy more supplies to add to your ever-growing craft hoard.
6. Ummm, hello?  You’ll be able to say you own a kit designed by “The Swell Designer”.
7. You’ll feel all artsy and stuffs.
8. This kit is unicorn-approved.  Seriously, it is!
9. You won’t overspend or stand in the stupid craft store line, this kit is shipped FREE to your door!
10. Do I really have to say it?????………..PUFFY PAINT!!!!!!

Oh and what’s cool about this Darby Smart kit is that it’s all-inclusive and they provide FREE SHIPPING! That deal always makes my ears perk up too!

You get this cool stuff in the kit:
– 1 bottle of Tulip Puffy Dimensional Fabric Paint
– 4 4″x4″ canvases
– 3 Tulip Fabric Spray Paints
– Your choice of a cool stencil from Crafter’s Workshop
– Foam brush

And what’s great is you really don’t use up you entire supply of paints and the stencil is totally reusable. This $24 kit is the gift that keeps on giving!

Well, there’s just one thing to ask….

OK make that four things.

So did I convince you to buy my kit yet??? Awww come on, you know you want to too…

Until next time Swellions!

I’ve been featured in the book Focus:Letters!

Focus: Letters

Woot! Woot! Today I got my advanced copy of Focus: Letters in the mail!! I’m so excited cause 7 of my photos have been featured in this amazing book by Lark Books. I was featured before in Focus: Love and was contacted again to participate in this book.

My pink SSSSSSSSSSSS photo was featured on the cover in the book.

SSSSSSSSSSSSSS

A fun behind the scenes story…do you know how sometimes you see project samples in craft stores already painted? Well, usually craft companies make these projects and sends them to the stores. This is an example of one of those projects in the works (taken at my last job). They basecoated all these pink S’s and then painted flowers on them. I happened to have my camera with me and immediately thought that it would make a great photo! So glad I did.

Here’s a sneak peek of another photo in the book. It’s so cool to see my name in print!

The Focus: Letters book is available on Amazon and can be pre-ordered for 9 bucks! What a great deal. It makes a great and thought-provoking coffee table book and also a great gift for yourself or a photography-loving friend!

Until next time Swellions!

New Swell Show & Tell

Here’s my 3rd installment in my “Swell Show & Tell”. I talk about a great new book, a great new plate I purchased, and a great new accessory I hope to add to my revamped office. Oh, and I even added in a couple sound effects.

Oh and a behind the scenes note…I worked for 2+ hours on my first version and somehow deleted it all when I tried to add a photo into my iMovie. Yikes. Yeah, I was ticked. Oh, well…you live, you learn. I did add in a couple sound effects I recorded on Garageband and I’m really digging the slew of sound effects you can choose from for your video. There are quite a few to choose from…from country to hip hop to crazy/silly sound effects.

Oh and some deets about what I talk about…

– The Crafter’s Devotional can be purchased here from Amazon.
– I got the deer half off at Border’s. Run quick if you want one too!
– My printer is the Pixma MP490. Here are the details from Canon’s web site. It is an all in one also with a copier and scanner.
– The Old Navy plate was by the checkout and I got it for $3.50 on sale. Another one of those, you better run and get it if you want it. They also had cute matching striped bowls.
– No Pixie cats were harmed in the making of this video. Harhar.
– Oh, and thank the Lord that the video capture stopped at one of my more flattering moments. Totally not diggin’ the double chin!
– And I think I have Britney Spears’ crazy eyes at the start of this! LOL.

Hope you have a great week!

Until next time Swellions!
