I don’t read a lot, but when I do, it tends to be craft books or magazines. I have been carrying around these 3 as of late and am trying to get up the motivation to make projects/learn from them.

Generation T: Beyond Fashion
There are a lot of great projects in this one by Megan Nicolay (here’s a great article/Q&A with her) actually think I like this version better than the original book (which I also own), mainly because it has a lot more diversity in the projects. There are a lot of ideas for home décor and gift giving as well as projects for kids, men and everyday life. Check out the Generation T blog for more info and fun project updates!

Canvas Remix: Techniques For Creating Mixed-Media Accessories
I heart Alisa Burke and I’ve been wanting to get a copy of her Canvas Remix book for a while. I want to start working on some projects using the graffiti style she talks in the book along with hints of sewing. I didn’t get the sewing gift like my mom, but I can do a straight stitch and very basic projects (and I mean basic), so I think the techniques/projects in this book I can do. I just gotta get some good canvas fabric to work with! Oh and for more canvas inspiration, check out Alisa’s blog. She’s one of my fave bloggers/crafters.

The Handmade Marketplace: How to Sell Your Crafts Locally, Globally, and On-Line
And finally, my Etsy friends and I are going to hopefully start reading/learning from the Handmade Marketplace book by Kari Chapin. I haven’t delved into it totally just yet, but it seems packed with great ideas and commentary from today’s hottest crafters and decorators that sell their goods. I’m not looking to “go global” and sell my stuff to the world and creating a new career selling my stuff as the book suggests, but I am all about learning new ways to present your work, market myself, and earn a little cash on the side. It looks like a great reference book!
