Santa was good to me…

Santa was good to me

Wanted to share with you one of the many wonderful presents I got while I was in KY. My family (my sisters and I) each draw names each year and this was my gift! You may remember a month or so back when I wished upon a star for this on my blog. I was tickled to get it in person!

And here’s a couple more of my wonderful gifts…

Monkey slippers
Monkey Slippers from William’s sister!

Got crafts? Gingerbread man
And a Got Crafts? Gingerbread Man from my niece and nephew!

Purse by my mom
And a purse made by my mom (it’s not really that yellow, just the processing my iphone program does)

YAY! I also got a lot of other great things including…
– A panini press
A metal letter punch number and letter set for jewelry
A cool blogging book (lots of inspiring post ideas)
– A new wallet
– Gift cards
– A Mickey Mouse sleepshirt from my bro
– Smell good stuff
– And other cute little things!

Still waiting on William’s big gifts. I have a couple more yet to open from him. He did get me some pink Sony headphones to watch TV while we were on the plane!

What did you get for Christmas?

Until next time Swellions!

Just what I’ve always wanted

I got an electronic razor! Golly gee!

There was a gift drawing at work and you got to pick from a ginormous pile of gifts in all shapes and sizes when your name was called. I was very observant last year and noticed that the smaller gifts all had gifts like mp3 players in them, so that’s what I went for…something lightweight and small! As you can tell in the above photo, I kinda guessed wrong. They had actually tricked us and wrapped small things in large packages. Needless to say, I wasn’t incredibly thrilled with my gift, but I can always take it back and get something else. The only thing I would ever need this razor for is the stray hair that pops up on my chin! You know how it is…you probably have them too.

I have a lot to get together tonight. I have to go to a party and then get everything ready for my family tomorrow. I also have to round up my computer, copy over everything from it, and get it to my friend. Ugh, I better get outta here so I can get started on it all!

I hope all you Swellions have an awesome weekend!

My wishlist

glow

Don’t you hate the holiday question when people say, “What do you want for Christmas?” I seriously am always stumped when people ask me it. I tried once putting some items on Wishlist, but if they’re not on Amazon, the task of pasting code and whatnot was was kind of daunting. It never fails that I go out and about to the mall or a store and I see all kinds of things that I want, but I’m always perplexed whenever having to answer that question. It’s an important one! It could mean the difference between socks or a cool new camera accessory.

So I do have some things I want. Some are obtainable, some are less. What do you really want this holiday?

Here’s ten things on my wish list:

1) lightweight camera tripod
2) close-up lens attachments for my camera
3) Tickets to see Britney Spears in concert (I’m not joking either)
4) Itunes gift card
5) That thing called the Gerbil/Weasel/I don’t know…it picks stuff up in small spaces you can’t get too. I told my sis this and she told me that she would NOT get this for me.
6)a small travel on popout luggage case
7)Really good jewelry tools (pliers, cutters, etc)
8) a new queen-sized bed
9) a new, soft Murray State sweatshirt (my alma mater)
10) a gumball machine

OK, so even though I want a few of these things, I want them eventually, rather than now. I don’t really have the room for a gumball machine really, but I’ve always wanted one.

This is actually a really good blog post idea, cause now I can just send them this link. Go me!

Hope you have a great night Swellions!

I’m giving away some stuff (but you have to live in Lex)

So, I actually made two very large boxes of Goodwill stuff tonight. It is in my car ready to be dropped off…taped up and everything. Feels.really.good.

I have acquired so much crap over the years and I really want to simplify and get it back to basics. I guess in craft reality, I’m never going to have that right bead or button that I need, but I will just have to go out and get it if that occasion strikes. I can purge now and purge again later if I acquire more stuff. But I am just so sick of having so much stuff at the moment! I don’t think I’m alone, I’ve recently read on twitter where both Margot and Kathy are purging their stuff as well.

There are a few things that I actually really do like and wanted to share with you, my blog friends. Now, I wish I could mail these far and wide if you did want them; however, I just can’t do that. However, if you live in the Lexington area and read my blog and want to meet up with me, I will be more than happy to give you some of my cool stuff that I have outgrown. I actually met up with a guy last night to give him my old mac moniter and I’ve put some other crafty stuff on craigslist that I want to sell! I kinda saved this stuff special for friends who may want it, since I did buy/purchase it with happy/useful intentions for myself…I just can’t let go of it to just anyone. If some people end up not wanting it, I will pass it off to the Goodwill, but for now, let’s call it an online yard sale of sorts. You may see something that would be perfect for gifting to someone else (they don’t have to know that you got it from me).

So, in tough economic times, this is my way of giving back. Har har. Heck, if someone was giving me something cool that I thought I could pass on as a gift to someone else, I would jump at the chance! I just can’t hold onto these things any longer! Here are the goods!

stuff-I'm-giving-away

1) Cute retro wall hangings I got on clearance at Michaels a couple of years back

2) A very slick mousepad that I loved, but I found hard to use. Very visually pleasing, though. Purchased at Coffee Times

3) Pink and red sparkle star paper mache box, purchased at Coffee Times

4) Anchor Hocking pumpkin dish. I love it, but I love the orange version I have more.

5) Pretty ornate frame. Not sure where I got this one.

6) Large fuschia vase with polka dots. Got this at Marshall’s a few years back. It’s just not something I really want or need anymore.

7) Book purse…the sorority life cover cracks me up! Just something I don’t ever carry. Love the idea behind it though. Purchased at a boutique in Danville.

8) Cute little shopping cart. I think I got this at World Market.

If you live in Lex and want an item, hit me up. First come, first serve though for fairness. Please request one item at first and if no one asks for a certain item in addition after a couple of days, you are more than welcome to more!

Hope this isn’t a little lowbrow of me, but I have trouble parting with things that I love. I want someone I know or who appreciates it to have it!

Until next time Swellions!
