How to Doodle a Cupcake

I like to doodle. A lot.  In my notebooks at work, I’d say it’s 25% writing, 75% doodling.
I’m sure my co-workers could attest to that. LOL.  There’s a few things I doodle a lot…flowers, four leaf clovers, hearts, and sometimes cupcakes as you see in this video!

This is just a fast and fun design! Alter it as you like.  And on a related note, I made cupcakes tonight!  It was William’s birthday.  I made homemade buttercream too. YUM!

Until next time Swellions!

How to make pretty doodled leaves + video tutorial

The gift of doodle

I’ve been doodling a lot lately. Maybe it’s a getting back to basics thing. Not sure, but I’ve been having a lot of fun! Something about doodling and not thinking about it is nice. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just fun and I just have been going with the flow.

Doodle leaves

I was inspired to make these leaves after seeing a journal belonging to my co-worker. I used a cut out leaf stencil (I cut myself) to keep me into a loose leaf shape. Seriously, I tried drawing them without the stencil and they weren’t pretty. I needed the stencil to give me an edge to stop at.

When I first started coloring them in, I just randomly used marker colors from my bin, I didn’t think and I actually ended up using a color combo I wouldn’t normally gravitate too. It’s nice to mix it up.

Here’s a little video I made showing you how to make these. I actually cut off the stems for these leaves, but you can leave them on if you want.

For the top of the box, I added a flower from this doodled flower tutorial I did last week. They’d make a great accent to a gift, scrapbook page, or accessory, don’t you think?
