2013 HERE I COME

So, it’s the start of 2013. That’s going to take a while to get used to writing, huh?  I didn’t celebrate in a very momentous way.  I had a stomachache and stayed in. I also didn’t make any resolutions…I don’t like declaring that I’m going to do stuff only to fall short, but I can make better life choices overall, like cleaning my furball-infested abode and eating better…chicken, rice, and broccoli for dinner, which I would call a good start. The chocolate chip cookies I made for William (cough, cough), not so good.

I spent part of my day organizing.  If there’s one kick in the pants I get at the beginning of the year, it’s that I am sick and tired of being a cluttered mess.   I don’t know if this will be the year where I get it under control, but I’m going to try to be better.  Both me and William have to be!

This is how I would describe my mood today (via 9gag.com)!  Haha. I didn’t get too distracted for too long, I seeing old things I stashed away! I could look at sticker albums and make PeeWee voices all day!

And this is my DIY project for the day.  William put up my big “O” and I added a mirror to the inset.  He doesn’t like all the holes, but I don’t mind them. What do you think? Does it just look dirty or should I give it a new coat of paint?

Admittedly, I haven’t been so great about blogging these days, but I do like to share photos on Instagram!  So please follow me if you are an iPhone or Android user, or you can look at the Swelldesigner Instagram photos here!

Until next time Swellions!

5 things that I’m doing right now

5 things I’m doing right now (or just did, actually):

1) Trying to come up with a reversible design to use on my Our Glass pendant from HHH enterprises. Going to do something cool with it so stay tuned.

2) Listening to My Life on the D List playing in the other room. I like this show, but I think it would be better if it were a half hour. One hour is just too much to digest. Actually I’ve watched Bravo all night tonight. Got my Project Runway and Shear Genius fix that I missed out on last night.

3) Thinking of ways to get my cat to try out her new spinning ball cat toy. Shes not acting interested, but she needs to be…otherwise $7 bucks down the drain.

4) Organized my bead stash. I’m trying to come up with a new system in plastic baggies and those photo boxes (going to use a thick cardboard to divide up the boxes by sections). We’ll see if my plan works. I’m so sick of those plastic dividers turning over and I’d like to find a beading system that actually works for me.

5) Contemplating that I may just need to purge some of my crap. I really need to take another load of clothes to Goodwill and get rid of craft supplies I never ever use. I just keep getting more and more and nothing is given away/tossed to make room. Man, I really wish I had my own place that I owned so that I could get better organized and paint, etc. A place where I was more settled and could actually have a plan to organize or utilize stuff in my decor. Oh well.

Can’t wait for tomorrow! I really think I’m not going to be posting much on weekends anymore. Mainly because I need a break and blogging is, as much as I hate to see it this way, an obligation of mine. I think taking a breather on weekends (not that many people visit the site those days anyway) will be good for me. But you can always check back here throughout the week for new content. Also, I may post if the fancy strikes me. I just want to enjoy my weekends and social activities more and not be stuck to a computer. I gotta get out.

Oh, and here’s Margot’s new video all about Summer CHA. It gives you a little look into some of the crafty rock star designers that were there and the crazy demos and book signings that ensue.

Until next time Swellions!

Being me is an exercise in itself!

olivia-newton-john-physical

So tonight I had every good intention of coming home, getting changed, and hopping onto my bike for a long ride around my neighborhood… Well, when I got home, I just didn’t feel like lugging that thing down 3 flights of stairs and back up (I am very lazy, can’t you tell?) So, I decided to do the next best thing and pop in that Tae Bo tape I bought at the Goodwill a few weeks back. Well, the problem with that was that I couldn’t find it anywhere in my house! Surely I didn’t throw it away. I searched for about 15 minutes and then decided that I’d just do my 10 minute workouts DVD I purchased a couple of years back. I wasn’t giving in!!! Well, I open up the case and nothing is there! Not surprising, it is me after all. I root around in my DVD/CD box and still don’t find it. I even looked in my old Felicity and Laguna Beach DVD box sets to see if I stashed it in one of them. Oh, woe is me!

Sweatin' to the Oldies

See, this isn’t really anything new in my world. I am in a constant state of scattered messness. I decided tonight that my means of exercise wouldn’t be the typical form of “Getting Physical” or “Sweatin’ to the Oldies”. It would start with me breaking up a sweat while cleaning up my crap! I really worked hard for an hour or so and have made some significant headway to boot! I can’t say it is fully organized, but it does look a lot better now that I tackled it head on. I even cleaned off my kitchen bar area and it is totally clean! It’s one of those feelings when you think, “Wow, that’s what that looks like?”

Hmm, maybe I should exercise like this more often! Kills two birds with one stone!

Until we meet again Swellions!
