My creativity is moody

I just officially changed my middle name to “Westerfield”, but I’m thinking I may should have changed it to “goes in spurts”.  OK, ok, that doesn’t sound all that swell.  What I’m trying to say, is that I’m a very random and scatterbrained and frankly, I have a short attention span when it comes to projects.  So that is why you’ll see me blogging sometimes, making quote art other times, then working on mixed-media the next. In the words of House of Pain, I  guess I like to “Jump Around”.  
So, these 3 quote art works are from a week or so of me being in a quote art mood.  I don’t think day to day that I’m moody, but I am very creatively moody.  What would be the mashup of that…Croody?

Anyway, here’s 3 of my creative works. 🙂  I’ll probably be in the mood to make more in a month or so. Who knows…

A peek inside my sketchbook

I’ve been playing around in my sketchbook this past week practicing my typography skills!  I have always wanted to be able to naturally hand draw typography that just flowed. I guess the only way to get there is to practice and learn more about it!  I’m making all my quote art about crafting and creativity, things that I apply to my life and know others like me would love.  So take a peek into my sketchbook…which one is your fave?

Playing with type

I love all the quote art I’ve seen on sites like Pinterest. It’s amazing to me the stuff people come up with. Admittedly, I’m usually pretty envious of illustrators abilities to do lettering.

So tonight I needed to snap out of that mode and make my own Type/Quote art. I had drawn this little saying on notebook paper, but it was pretty blah. I decided to cut it out and put it on a masonite board with some of my paint markings. I rarely make marks without thinking about them in my design, so the background is actually a random and fun departure for me cause it is very unintentional!

Anyway, it turned into a fun little personal project. Here’s just a bit of my story if you’re interested in reading it 🙂

Valentine 8.5×11 printable freebie – My Valentine to you!

I wanted to bring a little love to all my blog friends and readers in the way of this free colorful Valentine printable! I was inspired to do a radiating color rainbow heart after seeing a fun design using rays on a Hallmark card last night…mine’s different though. I get so inspired going to the Hallmark store. Such great illustration, typography and lettering by their amazing team of designers and lettering artists!
