Clean House??

Living room

Yeah, last night and tonight I somewhat cleaned. My brother and dad are coming tomorrow for a night visit and I’m trying to get it into order so I can try to avoid as few as comments as possible from my dad. He’s kind of a clean/neat freak about stuff, but by now I think he knows my housekeeping skills are a bit lackluster….hey, it’s a free place to stay after all!

If cleaning were a grade and I were being judged for my efforts, I would prob. get a D+. Haha. Over the years, I’ve gotten pretty good at making things look look polished, but in reality, they really aren’t. I got on Angie’s List tonight looking for a real maid. I hate to clean and while I think I made my place look someone spiffed up, you’d prob. still find some dust and cat hair if you choose to really look. Yeah, this is how I roll. I always have. I remember shoving stuff under the bed and into the closet as a kid and always having a few knick knack objects I had no clue as to what to do with. I never really got into the cleaning knack. The words “spring cleaning” isn’t really in my vocabulary, though it prob should be.

A little loopy

After all this cleaning, I’m feeling somewhat delirious.

OK, off to do a last minute scrub on the shower and to throw some clothes into the closet to hide.

Until next time Swellions!

Seeing Red

Sweet Girl

Tonight I took some photos of things I love (including my Pixie cat). She is so cute how she cuddles on the couch. She is such a photogenic girl.

I also tried to come up with a cool, crafty project. It didn’t turn out how I had planned, but that’s just part of trial and error, I guess…just gotta keep chugging along and another idea will strike!

Here’s some of my pretty rhinestones (I was trying to think of a Valentine project)
Rhinestone Love

I also played around with some mirrors for a project. I love mini mirrors, I would just need more to accomplish the project I want to make…Wah, wahhhhhhhhhh.

I am attempting on working on a red scarf. I love this yarn. I just have to practice more. I can knit, but I can’t purl very well and I need to get familiar with the process. I know it will just take time.
Red Yarn

Here’s another pic of the Pix. She is so weird. She runs away if I make sudden moves, but when I put a camera in her face, she is surprisingly cool with it. Oh, well, I have come to realize that she’s an oddball…kinda like me!
Eye of the Tiger

I hope you have a great start to your week!

Until next time Swellions!

A red couch moment

black cat on sofa

I’ve been noticing that my cat loves sitting right in the middle of the couch lately. She is such a peculiar, unpredictable girl. She really has no rhyme or reason. I decided to take a quick pic of her tonight to show you her lounging in her spot.

A quick post tonight. Had some work to do and watched a little TV. Kelly Osbourne was really good on Dancing with the Stars. She has a natural talent.

Did want to share some Halloween inspiration that I love. Enjoy!

– Love all this orange, black, white, and grey compiled inspirational images on

– Graphic goodness postcards on Artjunk. Feels my heart with Halloween joy. What a great recycled magazine idea!

– Lovely cupcake canvases on Catherine Holman’s blog.

– What a cute idea for a little girl’s jeans! Found in All Sweet’s Etsy shop.

– And a super cute cover for a lollipop… an Amigurumi bear in Halloween colors! from Amigurumi Kingdom’s Flickr Stream.

Hope you have a great Wednesday!

Until next day Swellions!

P.S. If you haven’t checked out the crazy red dust storm photos in Sydney, you should. Totally bizarre!
