Wednesday is Lensday: Sweet Stuff

sugar rush

Hey guys, I am trying to get back in my blogging groove and wanted to bring back my little Wednesday is Lensday feature. Anyway, I’m going to pull from my 3,250+ Flickr photos to share some inspiration! I have a graphic design book that gives a word and then images to get you thinking outside of the box. I really love it, and I thought I would try to use this idea with these posts. Hopefully maybe seeing one of my photos will help inspire you in your projects and art. What you take from it…color inspiration, photo inspiration, a nostalgic memory, or a new project idea is your choice.

Today’s topic I wanted to share is SWEET STUFF! Colorful candy, ice cream and cake imagery has really caught my eye recently (as well as my stomach, what can I say??? Well, then again, what’s new?), so that’s why I chose it! Sorry in advance for any watering mouths!

I was doing some research on Flickr yesterday and came upon this totally, and I mean TOTALLY AWESOME work by artist Peggy Dembicer. How amazing is the detail in this? Reading about it, she said she used over 100,000 beads to adorn a 1978 edition of Candyland. This was published in the Dec. 2006 issue of Bead and Button magazine and has been featured on MakeZine’s blog. I just love seeing all the detail. It totally amazes me and give me much respect for her! I don’t think I would have the patience at all to execute something this grand! Check out her full set of amazingly detailed photos in her Flickr set.

Thought I would end the week with something sweet for you to think about!

Until next time Swellions!
