terrorific tuesday banner

Terrorific Tuesday is back for year numero 3! What is it? Well, it’s a little Halloween project/inspiration roundup that appears on my blog and participants blog each Tuesday in October!

Each week during the month of October, I ask you to post a Halloween project/craft/food craft/anything creative and centering around Halloween on your blog. I then compile all the posts of various participants and make a mini photo mosaic along with the links to each project. I then send you the code for you to insert into your blog on Tuesday, thus why it is called “Terrorific Tuesdays”. This is a way for you to be inspired each and every Tuesday during the month and share in the joy of Halloween creativity! Everyone who has participated in the past has had a blast and has looked forward to making their Halloween creations week after week!

If you’re still confused, here’s a few examples from last year to give you an idea of how it works!

I promise it’s not incredibly complicated, I’m just doing it a little differently than I have done it in years past.

What projects/inspiration are considered for Terrorific Tuesdays?
1. Project can be a new or old idea. There will be no set theme from week to week. You can choose to include or not include instructions in your post, but I do ask that you post a photo and a brief description or explanation as to why you were inspired to make that particular project.

Consider one of the following ideas for your post:
– home décor
– jewelry/accessories
– spooky food and drink recipes
– party and table decor
– clever costumes

Easy Jack-O-Lantern Bib

jack-o-lantern bib

My mom whipped up this cute little baby bib for my niece Ava and it’s her submission for this week’s Terrorific Tuesday project! I’m hosting her cute project on my blog since she doesn’t have one. I also like showing off her super swell work…

Here’s what she had to say about the project:

“This is a ready-made bib that with a jack-o-lantern face that I digitized and embroidered on, but one could use black fleece and sew it onto a bib for a quick and easy Halloween project.”

So all you seamstresses and crafters take note! I also think that for all you non-seamstresses, you could use plain felt and securely glue it in place with OK To Wash-It Glue.

Check back this Tuesday to see the other Terrorific Tuesday entries from our contributors!

Until next time Swellions!

The Return of Terrorific Tuesday!

terrorific tuesday banner

Well, it’s about that time of year again and I’m excited to announce that Terrorific Tuesday is back this year!

Yes, you still have about a month til we actually start sharing the linky love, but I’m announcing this now so that you can get your Halloween thinking caps on and so that you plan accordingly. I know how hard it is to do a last minute project on the fly, so hopefully this will be a way for you to have a little more time in creating your craft, art, and inspirational projects!

For those who are new to Terrorific Tuesday…here’s the deal: Each week during the month of October, I ask you to post a Halloween project/craft/food craft/anything creative and centering around Halloween on your blog.

Still a little confused? Here’s the posts I compiled for each of the weeks last year…

Terrorific Tuesday Week 1
Terrorific Tuesday Week 2
Terrorific Tuesday Week 3
Terrorific Tuesday Week 4

This year, I’m doing things a bit different. I’m compiling a Yahoo group so that it will be easier for me to compile all the entries. Also, I’m asking that everyone who has a project to feature send me their link by Sunday night. This gives me Monday evening to compile all the projects (last year I was up to 2am working on the compilation and it was kinda stressful – hopefully everyone having their links up on Sunday will make things a little less hairy).

I’m not going to any more of the details right now, but if you are interested in participating, please e-mail me at swelldesigner@yahoo.com and I’ll send you an invite to the group. Once on the Yahoo group page, you will see a section called “Files” and I’ve posted “TT Guidelines” on there that further outline what you need to do to participate!

If you are still confused, please e-mail me directly at swelldesigner@yahoo.com and I’ll try to answer any questions you may have! I really hope you decide to participate, even if it is just for one week during the month of October! I can’t wait to see what you have “brewed” up!

Until next time Swellions!

What’s on my mind?

Halloween, of course! See all these surfaces and supplies? Well, I plan on doing something with them…the question is what?!? Ugh, I tend to get a lot of ideas in my head about what I want to do; however I want them to really be good and original! I see all kinds of ideas that I see that have already been done, but I really want to give my own original twist on what I see. I want it to be a new, fresh idea!

It is very hard to have an original idea these days! Everything is a spinoff or hybrid of something else you’ve seen. When I actually see a new idea or invention that is actually REALLY clever, I am super impressed. It’s so hard to stand out from the crowd and to make something totally unique! I hope to create a few projects this Halloween that are unique and different…things that will make you excited and things that you’ll actually want to do!

Just a little FYI…now that September is here, my posts may be a little shorter. I have a lot of accomplish in the next month and to successfully do that, I think the blog is going to have to suffer a bit. I hate that, but I don’t want to wear myself thin. It’s important that I accomplish what I set out to do for October!

In the next few days, I’m revamping and going to launch the plans for Terrorific Tuesdays, so keep your eyes peeled!

Until next time Swellions!
