The Fresno Necklace

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve taken a mini break from blogging these past couple weeks. I’ve lacked motivation to write or be inspired in blogland. I have; however, had other things up my sleeve. One such project is the making of these Fresno necklaces that I am selling locally for $22 at Twee Boutique.

I designed the Fresno phrase and had it manufactured. I also put together the necklace using gunmetal components. I added the finishing touches with the card it sits on! It’s the sign that greets people on Van Ness Avenue on their way into town. I don’t know if these signs are a California thing (I’ve never seen them outside of Cali) or what, but they are really cute and nice welcoming spots. I altered the background a bit to make it more fun! I’m happy with the way it turned out!

Here’s some more pics!

I’m thinking about starting up my Etsy shop and selling some there for the holidays. Please give me feedback in the comments if you have any interest and don’t live in these parts! I may do some other cities as well, but I gotta get on it! Just wanted to catch you up on my fun little “Fresno” side project!

Until next time Swellions!

Halloween buttons, Twee Boutique, and Good News!

Halloween buttons for Twee

Look at these cute new buttons I made for Twee Boutique in the Fresno Tower District! I used part of the Martha Stewart stickers I bought at Michaels. I mounted them on cute polka dot scrapbook paper. I think they turned out super cute. I love them! I’m also taking a few other Halloweeny items like cute ribbon fascinator pins and hairclips and a couple of button rings.

In other button news, I created 5 new designs for my Fresno buttons that will be available at the store on Friday! Also, Mike Oz featured my designs this past on the Fresno Beehive. Cool, huh?

And more icing on the cake…I won Picture Fresno this past week for my picture I took of the Security Bank in a reflection at Fulton Mall. I won a trip to Come and Get It Chicken and Waffles at the end of Fulton Mall. I’m so excited!

Until next time Swellions!

Gallery show tonight!!

Fresno Signage and sites mosaic

I have a gallery show tonight at Twee Boutique and Gallery for Fresno’s Art Hop. That’s why I’ve been a bit M.I.A. this week here on my blog. Above is a print I’m selling (I’m going to get it blown up into 18×24 prints as well). I also created some Fresno imagery cupcake markers to go on cupcakes! I’ll be sure to share some pics of the finished product!!

Well, gotta get up early tomorrow!

Until next time Swellions!

Good Things

Villa Vagrant

I have some good news to share I’m pretty excited about!!

First of all, I am going to be having a photography show next week at Twee Boutique here in Fresno. I’ll be exhibiting my various Fresno photography that I’ve taken recently (that’s a photo I took above). Still getting ready for it! Got my mats in today…ordered 25 5×7 mats and 25 8×10 mats!

Secondly, I’m going to be in an upcoming Fresno magazine e-newsletter for my Fresno Buttons! Yippee! I’m excited. It’s all because I wrote them a late night e-mail telling them about my buttons. It really does work to do random cold calls via the web!

Thirdly, thanks to a nice and informative comment by Scallywag, I now am going to attend the Mid Century Modern Home Tour in Sacramento this Saturday. I’m excited!!! I was also excited to learn that Fresno has it’s own Mid-Century Modern Fresno Facebook page.

Anyway, that is what’s new in my world. Hope you have a great end to your week!

Until next time Swellions!

Around Fresno

Yesterday I took a whole bunch of Fresno photos. Some weren’t in the best parts of town…ha, I didn’t even get out of my car for a couple of the hotel signs, but I’m glad I took them. I LOVE vintage signs. You probably already knew that. There are a lot of great signs around town. It’s sad that a lot of the places that accompany those signs are rundown.

I just wanted to share a few of my fun Fresno photos….

I did have an agenda for taking my photos, I used them for my buttons. My buttons have been going over really well. They’ve sold like 300 at Twee! YAY! They even gave the mayor some and she called to tell Melanie and Patty, my friends and owners of Twee, how much she loved them!
