Case of the Mondays

Hey everyone. Everything in the house of swell is going alright. I am suffering unfortunately from an eye infection due to a contact I wore yesterday. Yikes! It is so not fun, but thankfully it is hurting less today!

My friend Tasha’s wedding went really well. There were no major flubs or mistakes. It was at a very large church here in Lexington, so we were on 3 jumbotrons…so as I walked down the aisle, I was on camera. They prob. will broadcast it on TV next week, actually. So, this church is very contemporary and during the performance of Amazing Grace, backed up by a professional band, I did everything in my power to not bust a move. I really wanted to! It was so lively!

Anyway, the night before, Marty and Tasha had their rehearsal dinner/small reception and I wanted to share a photo I took of them next to some twinkle lights. I really like how it turned out!

On a whole other note, I am going to be going to a cookie party tonight. Some of the people at this party REALLY get into the packaging and presentation, but I just created some quick funky tent labels and stapled them to my baggies. I had a lot going on with the wedding and the eye setback that I didn’t have time to think too much about the presentation. The cookies turned out really well. Very moist and chewy!

So, I’m off to the cookie party. I hope the weather isn’t too terrible tonight! It can be kind of hard driving back on country roads when it’s bad. If it starts snowing too much, I’m going to have to leave early. This is something everyone that attends looks forward to all year long, so I hope the weather stays calm.

Well, gotta go! Until next time Swellions!

Some random stuff in my world

Making bread cause I was craving it (it’s pumpkin and a mix, I don’t lie).

Bought some Christmas gifts tonight. I am getting my niece some beading tools, while I’m getting both my nephews some cool football ornaments for their new Christmas trees in their rooms! I still have a few more things to get for the little munchkins!

Oh, I met a new guy named Brian at the WRFL station who picked up my little shopping cart I was giving away on my blog a week or so ago. He colored me a picture as a thank you. I thought that was pretty swell. My radio gig went well. I had fun chatting it up with Mick! I tried to play off of his little quips. I wasn’t nervous at all!

I’ve been meaning to share this great find that I got at Street Scene a few months back. Check it out…it’s an interchangeable purse from the 80’s. Totally cool. I really need to start losing it. I love how the one has an owl with H.H.H. on it. It instantly reminded me of Homer Hillis at HHH Enterprises! It came with like 10 changeable color bag attachments.

I’m still diligently beading away for the holidays and Tasha and Marty’s wedding. Finishing up on the bridesmaid jewelry that we are going to wear 🙂
I make such a mess! Beads and tools everywhere!

Hope everyone is having a great end to their work week! Until next time Swellions!

P.S. Why do I always spell niece wrong? You would think I would know by now how to spell it, but it’s always wrong! Some things I guess you never learn! Maybe now that I’ve done this “Very special P.S. message”, I will remember!

A long weekend

I’m finished with my weekend but feel like I need another day! Ugh…why does it have to go by so fast!! I guess it was good overall, besides having a sick moment yesterday. I didn’t really do much this weekend besides dress shop with my friend who is getting married (she picked out her dress + the dresses we are wearing). I also helped Jeremy organize his place today. He just moved to a rather small place. It’s an apartment/studio complex that used to be a hotel. It is the craziest looking place on the inside, because it has recessed moulding that is in resemblance of castle shapes. Like there are three guards in a row at one point in the hallway, a Russian temple, jokers, etc. It’s actually quite bizarre. Chris said he wants to shoot it with his wide angle lens. Actually here’s one pic to give you an idea of the moulding. I thought this looked rather Trekkie myself.

I also watched 2 episodes of 24. Pretty compelling stuff. I could see myself getting hooked. Just what I need.

Well, I think I’m going to settle in and check out one of the mags I bought in the past couple of days…I got Country Living (actually not as “country” as you would think), Bust, Venus Zine, and ReadyMade. That’s what I call some good readin’.

Until tomorrow Swellions!
